Been searching for this for months

Ever since I was last in Munich I've been searching for this bench. It was outside the Haus der Kunst and I sat there while I was waiting for my friend Jürgen before we went to the Maison Martin Margelia and Gerhard Richter exhibits. I came across it today in a magazine and found out it's designed by Jurgen Bay who has a studio with his wife in Rotterdam.

Above is the photo from droog (it's only 11,000€....) and two of mine.

gestalten has a great video featuring the two of them. linked here....

Found this photo on a post from {Ouno Design} featuring an old snippet out of Elle Decor Italia. More after the jump - all the photos are incredible - sturdy pieces & great lighting.

Sun Porch & Table

Abandoned flour mill recrafted into a decadent penthouse. Sun porch has a homey, bohemian feeling with the rugs and rustic crates. Living/dining area is rooted by concrete floors and this gorgeous wooden table with benches & leather cushions. I love the role that the non-traditional windows play in creating length and offering such a party of sunlight.

All those agaves make me miss Texas....

Outdoors

Starting to cruise for new outdoor seating. Normann's new camping seat is predictably terrific (albeit spendy). Also good is the HAY lounge chair at Midsommar. The nostalgic Frédéric Sofia Luxembourg chair is my favorite though with a stunning selection of colors and great height - perfect for people watching, book reading and margarita sipping. Found at Made in Design.

Brain Furnishings

Dutch design firm PROFF designs products that have the creative process at the fore. Their products are designed to make work spaces more inspiring to those working in them. They look at the specific needs of a space as a design challenge and create furishings that solve those problems.

Colorwash

>Marimekko has been a favorite of mine since childhood. My sister Lexi and I had the BoBoo print in our bedrooms and I still have the BoBoo linen napkins from my 6th birthday. It never goes out of style.

I spent some time today looking at their new spring catalog. It got me in the mood to do some reorganizing and redecorating. They have so many colorful and energetic fabrics. The catalog is exquisitely styled. It all looks so happy!

Here are a few pieces from their new spring fabrics collection

Newfangled Furniture

SchubLaden in Berlin takes old drawers and creates new settings for them. The combinations are smart and look great. They mix textures, sizes, ages, materials in all of their pieces. They pair parts of disparate provenance in an organized, standardized fashion. The furniture is functional but not stuffy.

Peace Out - Beatnik Family by Jonas Lindvall

Clean, strong, simple tables by Jonas Lindvall for deNord. Key element of famous Japanese restaurant in Malmö - Izakaya Koi. Tables and chairs can often be so stuffy and over-thought in cafes and restaurant. It is a pleasure to sit and enjoy wonderful food atop quality-made furniture like this. Via Midsommar.
